Gyminny’s Village Learning

We started Village Learning as a service to the community. We keep pricing as low as possible to make it affordable for families. I have five children, and I understand the cost of putting them in school and daycare. We do not sacrifice quality as we employ the best-credentialed teachers, cleanest facility, and comprehensive curriculum. We prepare the students for school, the playground, and life. – Daniel Gundert

GK Families,

We are proud to announce our Village Learning program started Monday, August 16th. We have 36 spots available. Gyminny Kids’ Learning Village’s mission is to uncover every child’s inherent genius and inspire lifelong learners. We believe in engaging the whole child, cultivating their minds, hearts, and bodies while developing character through sport. Our state-of-the-art gymnastics facility offers an exercise component in a clean, climate-controlled 17,000 square foot building led by our credentialed, career-orientated teachers. It takes a village!

GK’s Village Learning operates under the day camp protocol and provides care and learning to prepare each child for success when they enter school. We provide structured learning and a physical outlet.

Village Learning Curriculum

At Gyminny Kids, we value learning and creating an experience for our gymnasts beyond gymnastics: we strive to prepare them for the real world and foster individuals of character who possess a curiosity for life, learning, and discovery. Gyminny’s Village Learning Program is designed to cultivate preschool-aged children’s young minds, hearts, and bodies. We have developed a rigorous curriculum that integrates gymnastics and readies our youngest ones for Kindergarten and beyond. In addition to offering “the best gymnastics preschool program in the nation,” according to the FIG President, we will also teach your child rudimentary skills in math, science, language arts, and social studies in a multitude of ways. In this program, all of our teachers are well-trained, experienced, and credentialed. They have come from the preschool world and bring a wealth of knowledge on early childhood development. During our “classroom” times, we have adopted a Montessori-inspired learning approach, providing freedom and flexibility for each child to learn and develop at their own pace. Children will learn how to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide through creative learning tools and guidance from their teachers. They will work on their reading, spelling, and handwriting. They will also learn about science through sensory play and experiential, STEAM-based activities. The social sciences will be lightly taught through Socratic Seminars and themes and lessons based on current events and what our children see in their environment. Aside from the academic piece, we align our social-emotional learning curriculum with values grounded in diversity, inclusion, and honoring each child’s unique treasure. We also implement our local Poway School District’s Character Counts! ‘Six Pillars of Character’ framework. These pillars include caring, fairness, respect, citizenship, responsibility, and trustworthiness.

Families may opt to enroll their children in the program for half a day or a full day. This program runs during the academic school year, August to mid-June.
