2025 Regional Success: North County Gymnastics & The Gyminny Kids Shine Across All Levels
North County Gymnastics and the Gyminny Kids are proud to celebrate a wave of incredible success at the 2025 Region 1 Championships held over the past several weekends. A total of 82 athletes from the program competed against top gymnasts from California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, and Utah, bringing home 24 gold medals and achieving several historic firsts for the gym.
The boys' team delivered an outstanding performance at the Region 1 Men's Championships in Ontario, CA. Fifteen gymnasts from Levels 4 through 10 competed, resulting in nine Regional Champions. Five athletes were selected for the prestigious All-Star Team, representing both their home state and gym. The Level 5 All-Star Team went on to win the team title. Brandon Kendro qualified for Level 9 Western Nationals, and Audio Dobson earned a spot at Level 10 Nationals, marking significant milestones for the team.
The Girls Development Program also had a strong showing. Six athletes competed at the Level 8–10 Region 1 Championships in Sandy, Utah, including Madi Daravong, who qualified for Level 9 Western Nationals. This year marks a historic moment for the program, as it is the first time the gym has had Level 9 and 10 girls compete at Regionals — a testament to the team's growing depth and skill.
Back home in San Diego, 33 gymnasts took the floor at the Level 6–7 Region 1 Championships, with 12 athletes earning the title of Regional Champion.
Meanwhile, at the Region 1 Xcel Championships in Roseville, CA, 28 gymnasts represented the gym across Xcel Gold to Sapphire divisions. The team brought home three Regional titles.
Several standout routines earned exceptionally high marks from the judges. Rocket Gundert scored a 9.85 on pommel horse, Aliya Limon posted a 9.9 on beam in Level 6, and Aubree Vanvleet received a 9.8 on beam in the Xcel Gold division. Performances reflecting technical precision and artistic excellence.
"This season's results reflect not only the hard work of our athletes, but also the dedication of our coaching staff and the supportive parents," said Daniel Gundert, owner of Gyminny Kids. "We're thrilled with the growth, the achievements, and the momentum heading into nationals." As North County Gymnastics and the Gyminny Kids continue to raise the bar in youth gymnastics, these Region 1 Championship results affirm the gym's reputation for excellence and its commitment to helping every athlete reach their highest potential.
