We are thrilled to introduce you to North County Gymnastics, where passion meets performance! Our USA Gymnastics-affiliated gymnastics teams offer exceptional opportunities for both boys and girls in Xcel, Pre-Team, and Junior Olympic programs. With several convenient locations, your family can choose the one that suits you best. Our programs cater to athletes aged six to eighteen, nurturing their talents and encouraging growth at every step.
Participation in our teams is by invitation only, ensuring your child receives the personalized attention they deserve. Our teams compete locally and nationally across Compulsory and Optional levels in the Developmental and Elite Programs. Since our team's establishment in 2012, our athletes and qualifiers have achieved remarkable success, boasting hundreds of state and regional champions.
North County Gymnastics provides a progressive program designed to foster individual and team success within a safe, exciting, and motivating environment. We understand the importance of timing in introducing your child to competitive gymnastics. Our experienced coaches carefully assess their physical and mental readiness, guiding them through our level-based program at the right pace, which is why North County Gymnastics is the gold standard in Southern California.
Gymnastics is a year-round sport. We dedicate ourselves to continuous training and preparing diligently for the competitive season. Your child will develop gymnastics skills and learn valuable life lessons such as discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

NCG is the competitive team pathway at Gyminny Kids, operating as North County Gymnastics, and designed for athletes who are ready for structured, high-commitment competitive gymnastics in San Diego. The NCG team serves motivated boys and girls ages 6–18 through invitation-only placement into a progressive, USA Gymnastics–aligned training system.
Built on decades of experience, clear mission capabilities, and strong core values, NCG supports athletes from early competitive development through optional levels and advanced competitive pathways—without families needing to switch programs as their gymnast grows.
A Competitive Program Rooted in Structure and Experience
North County Gymnastics operates within Gyminny Kids’ long-standing framework of safety, consistency, and athlete development. Since 2012, the NCG team has trained gymnasts across Compulsory and Optional levels within the Junior Olympic Program, as well as advanced elite program tracks when appropriate.
Athletes train year-round in a structured environment that balances skill mastery, conditioning, and mental preparation. Our coaching staff evaluates readiness carefully, ensuring each athlete enters competitive gymnastics at the right time and progresses at a sustainable pace.
This deliberate approach has resulted in hundreds of state and regional champions and consistent representation at local, regional, and national competitions.
USA Gymnastics–Aligned Training Pathways
NCG follows a clear, level-based progression aligned with USA Gymnastics standards. Training is intentional, progressive, and built to support long-term success—not short-term results.
Program pathways include:
Pre-Team development for foundational strength and basics
Compulsory levels within the Junior Olympic Program
Optional levels for advanced competitive athletes
Select elite program preparation based on ability and readiness
This structure allows athletes to build strong fundamentals while advancing confidently through the system.
Invitation-Only Team Placement and Athlete Readiness
Participation in the NCG team is by invitation only. This ensures:

Clear expectations for commitment and progression
Readiness assessments consider physical ability, focus, coachability, and emotional maturity. This protects the athlete experience while maintaining a healthy team culture.

“8/18/26 - When we moved to North County, I started looking for a gymnastics gym for my girls. I had been working with them on skills at home for a while, but despite my best efforts, I hadn’t found a gym that felt like the right fit.
I was looking for a bit of a unicorn—a gym small enough to feel like family, but with great coaching, well-maintained equipment, and a competitive program that wouldn’t feel too intense or high-pressure at their young age. They weren’t ready to compete yet, but I had a feeling that might be where they were headed.
Then, after a Sprouts run one day, I happened to walk by Gyminny Kids La Costa. I signed both girls up for a trial class, and they immediately loved it. They loved their coaches, felt comfortable, and seemed to feel at home almost instantly.
Now, both of my girls compete on the XCEL team, and it has turned out to be exactly what we were hoping for. They get to enjoy the sport and the excitement of competition, while the focus remains on their individual growth, with lots of encouragement rather than pressure.
And then there is Coach Brittany. She has become one of my girls’ absolute favorite humans. She is incredibly supportive and has helped them develop so much as gymnasts, but what means even more to me is the relationship she has built with them. They trust her, rely on her, and know she is in their corner. She has become such an important part of their development—not only as gymnasts, but as people—and I am incredibly grateful for her.
The entire team is pretty special. The kids are different ages and levels, but they genuinely support and care about one another. It really does feel like a little family.
My girls are happy, comfortable, and confident here. Somehow, we found our unicorn. I couldn’t recommend Gyminny Kids La Costa—and especially Coach Brittany—more highly to families looking for the same kind of gymnastics experience we were.”
