Our goal is to have one of the most flexible, family-friendly makeup policies you'll find in Southern California.
How Do Unlimited Makeups Work?
Every time your child misses an eligible regularly scheduled class, they receive a makeup token.
There is no set limit on the number of makeup tokens your child can earn.
We prefer that you let us know ahead of time when your child will be absent. This allows us to mark the absence and potentially make that space available to another Gyminny Kids family looking for a makeup.
But we understand that life doesn't always give you advance notice. If you forget to report the absence beforehand, your child can still receive their makeup.
What Can I Use a Makeup Token For?
We intentionally make our makeup tokens flexible.
A makeup token can generally be used for:
An available in-class makeup
Open Gym
Kid's Night Out or Kid's Day Out
One makeup token equals one admission when using it for Open Gym or Kid's Night/Day Out.
For an in-class makeup, we'll try to place your child in the same program and an appropriate comparable level whenever possible.
All makeups are subject to space and availability.
How Do I Schedule a Makeup?
You can schedule makeups starting one week before the date you'd like to attend.
The easiest option is to check your Parent Portal for available classes.
Need some help? No problem. You can also contact your Gyminny Kids location by phone, text, email, or live chat, and our team will be happy to help you find an option that works.
Do Makeup Tokens Expire?
Our standard guideline is to use makeup tokens within 60 days of the missed class.
But here's an important part of our policy: we're flexible.
If you're approaching the 60-day expiration and need additional time, ask us. We're happy to work with you and extend your makeup tokens.
The purpose of the 60-day guideline is to encourage families to use their makeups reasonably close to when the class was missed, not to take away a makeup you've earned.
What If Gyminny Kids Cancels My Class?
You'll receive a makeup token.
Whether you need to miss class or we occasionally have to cancel a regularly scheduled class, we want you to have the opportunity to make up that time. Classes are usually closed the weeks surrounding major holidays.
Can Siblings Share Makeup Tokens?
Yes, upon request.
If one child has unused makeup tokens and you'd like a sibling to use them, contact our office, and we'll be happy to help arrange the transfer when appropriate.
What Happens If We Miss Our Scheduled Makeup?
Life happened again. We get it.
Your makeup isn't automatically gone forever.
Contact our office and request that we return the token to your account. Please get in touch with us so our team can track the missed makeup and restore the token.
Can I Use My Makeup at Another Gyminny Kids Location?
Generally, you should use makeup tokens at the Gyminny Kids location where your child is enrolled.
If you officially transfer your enrollment to another Gyminny Kids location, you can transfer your available makeup tokens with you upon request.
With multiple Gyminny Kids locations throughout San Diego County, our team can help you understand your family's options.
Do I Have to Stay Enrolled While Using My Makeups?
We strongly encourage families to remain actively enrolled while completing their makeups.
One of the easiest ways to catch up is to continue attending your regular weekly class and temporarily add a second or even third day using your makeup tokens.
This lets your child keep their normal class spot, continue progressing, and catch up on missed classes at the same time.
As with the rest of our makeup policy, we understand that individual circumstances vary, and our team will do its best to work with your family.
What About Competitive Team Athletes?
Our competitive athletes also benefit from our flexible approach to makeups, but competitive gymnastics has additional attendance expectations.
Consistent training is essential for an athlete's safety, skill development, conditioning, and competitive success.
If a competitive team athlete expects to be absent for more than a few days, the family should contact the Team Administrator.
Unlimited makeups should not be confused with unlimited absences from competitive team training. Excessive or extended absences can affect an athlete's ability to train and participate successfully with the team.

Because we're a family business serving families.
We understand that parents are balancing school, work, vacations, illnesses, siblings, sports, appointments, holidays, and everything else that comes with raising children.
We don't want parents bringing a sick child to gymnastics because they're worried about losing a class. We don't want a family skipping a vacation because they already paid tuition. And we don't want an occasional scheduling conflict to make gymnastics stressful.
