TRC Gymnastics Transition
Q&A for TRC Families

TRC Gymnastics → North County Gymnastics & The Gyminny Kids TRC Solana Beach

Families may have questions about the upcoming transition as TRC Gymnastics becomesNorth County Gymnastics & The Gyminny Kids, TRC Solana Beach.

We want this transition to be clear, positive, and exciting for our athletes and families, while also honoring the strong legacy Darryl built at TRC.

Below are answers to the most common questions families have.

1. Why is TRC Gymnastics joining Gyminny Kids?

After decades of building TRC Gymnastics and serving the local community, Darryl Davis has decided to transition toward retirement from running the business.

He carefully choseDaniel Gundert andNorth County Gymnastics(competitive team name) &The Gyminny Kids (recreational program name) to carry the program forward because of their reputation for strong coaching, professional facilities, and long-term athlete development.

North County Gymnastics & The Gyminny Kids has been serving San Diego families for nearly 40 years and now operates multiple locations across North County.

This transition allows the TRC program to continue growing while becoming part of a larger, stable organization with expanded opportunities for athletes.

2. What will the gym be called?

Beginning June 1, 2026, the gym will operate as:

North County Gymnastics & The Gyminny Kids TRC Solana Beach

The competitive team name will be: NCG | TRC Solana Beach

This name honors the history of TRC while integrating the gym into the broaderGyminny Kids organization.

The new name merge allows team athletes to retain their TRC identity while joining theNorth County Gymnastics competitive program.

3. What is happening to TRC South?

TRC South will close and consolidate into the Solana Beach location.

Families currently attending TRC South will be invited to continue training at the Solana Beach gym, which will become the home of the combined program.

This consolidation allows the program to focus resources on one stronger facility rather than operating two smaller locations.

4. When does the transition officially happen?

The official transition date is:

June 1, 2026

Between March and May, the leadership teams will be working together to prepare for a smooth transition.

Families should expect to see gradual improvements and updates during this time.

5. Will my child’s coach still be there?

Many TRC coaches will have the opportunity to join the Gyminny Kids coaching team.

The goal is to retain strong coaches who want to continue developing athletes within the new organization.

In addition, athletes will benefit from access to the larger coaching staff across the Gyminny Kids locations.

6. What will Darryl’s role be moving forward?

Darryl will be stepping away from running the business as he moves toward retirement.

However, he will remain involved with the organization during the first year of the transition as a coach.

During this time, he will:

• support competitive teams

• mentor younger coaches

• occasionally coach at different Gyminny Kids locations depending on need

• Act as an internal clinician

This flexible schedule allows him to remain involved with the athletes while also enjoying more time with his family.

7. Will classes and team programs continue?

Yes.

All current programs will continue, including:

• Preschool gymnastics

• Recreational classes

• Competitive teams

• Birthday parties

• Open Gym

• Kids Nigh Out

• Adult Class

• Camps (when school is closed, we offer camps)

Over time, athletes will also gain access to expanded opportunities within the North County Gymnastics organization, including additional training resources and coaching support.

8. Will prices change?

Yes.

Beginning June 1, tuition will increase to match thestandard pricing across all Gyminny Kids locations.

Families will receive updated tuition information on their iClassPro statements beginning May 18.

While pricing will change, families will also see added value, including:

Professional career coaches

• Expanded staff training throughGyminny Kids Academy

• Upgraded facilities and equipment over time

• Larger coaching staff and resources

• Access to multiple gym locations

9. Are there ways to receive discounted tuition?

Gyminny Kids offers off-peak pricing for families with flexible schedules.

These include:

Midday Classes

Classes earlier in the day may qualify for discounted pricing.

Twilight Classes

Late evening classes may qualify for up to 25% off standard tuition.

These options help families find flexibility and affordability that suit their schedules.

In addition, Gyminny Kids does not charge a registration, membership, or annual fee. We havean all-inclusive pricing structure.

10. What improvements can families expect at the Solana Beach gym?

Over time, the Solana Beach facility will receive facility improvements and equipment upgrades.

Think of it as giving the gym a fresh facelift while preserving the training environment families already love.

Families will also benefit from:

• Upgraded equipment

• Expanded program resources

• Improved scheduling systems

• Enhanced communication tools

11. What makes Gyminny Kids different?

North County Gymnastics & The Gyminny Kids is known for several things families value.

Career Coaches

Many instructors are long-term professionals who build careers in gymnastics coaching.

Professional Staff Training

All coaches participate in ongoing education through Gyminny Kids Academy, ensuring consistent coaching standards.

Clean and Safe Facilities

Gyms are professionally maintained and designed around structured progressions and safety standards.

Confidence and Character Development

The goal is to help children build:

• Confidence

Resilience

• Discipline

• A positive mindset

12. What happens if my child misses a class?

One feature families really appreciate at Gyminny Kids is unlimited makeups.

If your child misses a class for any reason, including:

• Illness

• School events

• Travel

• Extended vacations

You can schedule an in-class makeup.

This keeps things flexible for families so that:

• You do not lose value when you travel

• Children do not feel pressure to attend when they are sick

• Families can maintain consistency even with busy schedules

• You can keep your spot in class, which is valuable especially during busy seasons when we often see waitlists.

13. What will happen to the TRC Booster Club?

The existing TRC Booster Club will conclude operations as part of the transition.

Within theNorth County Gymnastics competitive program, teams are operated entirely by the gym, rather than by parent-run booster clubs.

This structure removes the need for:

• required volunteer hours

• mandatory fundraising commitments

• parent involvement in operational decisions

Many families appreciate this approach because it allows them to focus on supporting their athletes without needing to manage team operations.

Parents are always welcome to support their athletes however they choose, and families may certainly fundraise independently if they wish. However:

• There will no longer be an internal booster club

• Meet fees will be paid directly by parents

• The gym will handle team operations and decisions

This approach allows the coaching staff and organization to run the program consistently across all North County Gymnastics teams.

14. Will my child have access to other locations?

Yes.

One of the advantages of joining the Gyminny Kids organization is access to multiple gyms across North County, including:

• 4S Ranch

• Poway

• Carlsbad

• La Costa

• La Jolla UTC

• Solana Beach

This gives families additional flexibility and expanded opportunities for athletes. Each of these locations listed offers preschool, school-age, tumbling, ninja, and competitive gymnastics.

The Solana Beach location will offer DP and Xcel teams, levels 2-4 DP, and all levels of Xcel. We do not offer DP level 5 as our DP athletes move from level 4 to level 6.

If you have specific team questions, please contact our team director, Ryan, who oversees team operations at all of our locations, and he can best guide you to the program that fits your needs.

The Solana Beach location will feature a TRC Hall of Fame recognizing the athletes, coaches, and accomplishments that helped build the program.

TRC’s legacy will remain an important part of the gym moving forward.

16. What is the long-term vision?

The vision is to build a strong gymnastics program in Solana Beach that honors the TRC legacy while benefiting from the scale and resources of North County Gymnastics & The Gyminny Kids.
